I attended the YM theory course with you back in June this year. I recently passed the practical exam on board Hardiesse (the charity boat that I'm involved in) and wanted to pass on my thanks to you, your tuition and guidance (plus advice about continuing to practice the techniques I'd done with you in the classroom) definitely got me through it!

I thought I'd drop you a line to say thank you for our Competent Crew course the other week! We had a great week. Hana and I REALLY enjoyed it. From my point of view it was just so good to be on the water, away from work and computers, and for Hana it was a first taste of sailing. Fortunately, she loved it.
I learned a lot - thank you for being a great instructor and endlessly forgiving. Loved the ropes, charts, the stories etc, and looking forward to putting it into practice again very soon. I'm also hoping that one day before too long I might be able to arrange a day of own-boat tuition when the Rustler finally gets to Falmouth. And thanks too for looking after us (and Rhiannon) so admirably with all the yummy cooking.

Simon is great fun to sail with. This in no way compromises his professionality. When I sailed with him he was concerned that he taught me how to do it 'right' without cutting corners, but at the same time ensuring it was fun rather than intimidating. A patient and supportive teacher.
A lifetime of sailing both coastal and transatlantic on a wide range of craft have given him a deep knowledge of boat handling (power and sail) and navigation on a wide variety of types. He is enthusiastic to share this knowledge.
The training I undertook with Simon left me confident that I could competently handle my new yacht. I can unreservedly recommend Simon as an instructor. An added bonus, if you are lucky enough to sample his cooking, is that it is of a similar standard!
